Architectural Experience Program
博天堂注册The Architectural Experience Program () is a comprehensive program that contributes to the development of competent architects who can provide exemplary architectural services. The National Council for Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) is responsible for establishing, interpreting and enforcing the Architectural Experience Program (AXP) and architectural training requirements. The objective of the AXP is to prepare intern architects for competent practice. The AXP training requirement establishes levels of training in important areas of architectural practice. The AXP is guided by the Advisory Committee, which includes AIA and NCARB representatives, including interns-at-large.
The offers a number of resource highlights and information to assist AIA Associate members and interns in their continuing education. For further information about AXP training requirements and NCARB Council Record application procedures, visit the , email NCARB Customer Service, or call NCARB Customer Service at (202) 879-0520.
Emerging Professionals Companion
Developed by AIA and NCARB, is an online resource for emerging professionals. Primarily intended as a means for interns to earn AXP credit, this resource also can be used by educators in professional practice courses, by young architects seeking continuing education credit, by AIA components developing programming for emerging professionals (e.g., mentoring programs, study groups), and by firms looking for in-house curricula. The EPC is updated for current practice models and expanded to include the varied paths that an intern or licensed architect may consider during his or her career in architecture.
Emerging Professionals Breakfast
博天堂注册This event first began at the 2013 AIA Iowa Annual Convention as a means to engage Emerging Professionals on how to become involved with AIA Iowa. The event is now an annual event and a means to network with the leaders of AIA Iowa including the Board of Directors, Committee Chairs, and Section leadership.
Emerging Professionals Committee
Co-Chair: Joe Copley, AIA
The assesses candidates for their knowledge, skills, and ability to provide the various services required in the practice of architecture. The ARE is the only examination prepared by NCARB and has been adopted for use by all 54 U.S. member boards and the Canadian provincial architectural associations as the registration examination required of all candidates for architectural registration.
Continuing education credit can be earned for any AIA CED accredited course. Interns may earn AXP Supplemental Experience hours by completing approved AIA Continuing Education programs. One AIA SEU/LU is equal to one AXP experience hour. When submitting to NCARB, LU's must be documented on the intern's AIA Transcript. All AIA Licensed Architects are offered transcripts through MyCES. Visit these links to learn more:
